Free Email Clients

With free email services popping up all over the Internet, tools to keep your email on your local computer are vital. These applications, referred to as Email Clients, will allow you to download your email, send and receive new messages, and integrate multiple accounts into the same program. With communication going more and more digital, an application with these features will be useful to you in the near future, if you aren't using one already.

Storing email locally isn't just the only perk to ditching your online email interface. These applications will also let you create folders to store your emails, create filters so that you don't have to sort through all that Spam email, and will offer much more flexibility for creating reply templates and signatures. These applications will also let you leave your email in your online inbox, allowing you to create a backup of all your emails. These applications support various Email protocols such as POP3, IMAP, SMTP and Exchange, making them a one stop shop for combining all your email accounts, work and personal, into one local application. Most of the Free Email Clients will have the same feature sets, so pick one that is visually appealing to you, and has a user interface that fits your navigation style.

While Email Clients are extremely useful in todays would of digital communication, some precautions should be taken:

1. If you are not leaving a copy of your emails in your Online mailbox, please be sure to backup your local email on a daily basis. By default, most email clients will DELETE email from your online inbox.
2. Not all online services offer the access you need to utilize an Email Client. Please check with your Email Service Provider to ensure you are able to use one with your account.
